About the Conference ：
2012 ISSS Technical Meeting and the first Chinese Sports Surface Materials and Installation Conference (CSSMI) are hosted by ISSS Executive Board and CHINESE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION. With the internet platform and media power, Changguan.cc is the only media partner and co- Organizers for the Conference besides ISSS Executive Board and CHINESE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION.

This Conference will bring together influential members of regional and international testing experts, suppliers from across the sports surface industry to improve the development of sports surface industry of China.

About the ISSS：

Rationale

The ISSS is an association of technical experts involved in the investigation, development and testing sports surfaces. Members of the Association may be individuals, scientific institutes, testing laboratories, sports federations or public authorities. All members are independent of the industries involved in the manufacture, supply and installation of these surfaces. However technical experts from these companies are invited to support and join the working groups of ISSS.

What are the aims of ISSS?

Sports surfaces comprise all surface constructions and layers, on which the different sports are performed (from athletics to sports games to gymnastics).The sports surface is often the main element of a sports facility and certainly the most important component for the effective performance of the athletes. Scientists and engineers working in the field of sports surfaces have in the past often worked in isolation. Thus the importance of research in some countries may have been underestimated and therefore not applied efficiently to the sport concerned. One important function of ISSS is to co-ordinate the activities of different disciplines and countries in the field of sports surfaces. This will be assisted by international communication, regular conferences and the exchange of research results. If this can be achieved, unnecessary duplication of effort may be avoided, and testing methods and requirements standardized. The ISSS sees itself as a forum of discussion and information between sports researchers, testing laboratories, sports medicine, bio-mechanics and facility proprietors.

History

The ISSS was founded in 1985 and was then registered as an Association under Swiss law in Zurich, Switzerland.
The Association was constituted with an Executive Board that effectively runs the Association between Annual General Meetings, at which times a new Board is elected.
The first Executive Board comprised three persons - Mr. Cay Hegerman (chairman) of the Norwegian Building Research Institute (Norway), Mr. Hans Jorg Kolitzus (treasurer) of the Institute fur Sportbodentechnik (Switzerland) and Mr. Vic Watson (secretary) of the Centre for Sports Technology (England).

About the Sports Surfaces Testing Laboratory of CHINESE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION

The Sports Surfaces Testing Laboratory of CHINESE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (SSTL-CAA) based in East China University of Science and Technology got contact in ISSS in 2000. It attended the ISSS Annual General Meeting in 2001, And became the body member of ISSS in 2005,back then the SSTL-CAA was the only member from Aasia.the SSTL-CAA proposed to host the 2012 ISSS Technical Meeting in China  at the 2010 ISSS Annual General Meeting，and this propose was elected at 2011 ISSS Annual General Meeting. So The 2012 ISSS Technical Meeting And Annual General Meeting will be held In Shanghai China November 1 to 3 2012.
The ISSS has Annual General Meetings every tear. The ISSS has Technical Meetings every second year. The ISSS would make discussion about the development of sports surface technical and science at the technical meetings. The subjects of the discussion include materials, environmental protection, equipment and testing of sports surface.

About Changguan.cc：

www.changguan.cc is a website that focuses on sports venues construction industry of China .Changguan.cc informs the members and VIPs of its website such as suppliers, contractors and professionals in the industry the latest news and events to keep them updated with all major aspects of sports venue construction.  It also provides e-commerce and virtual community services for its members and VIPs. Changguan.cc was launched as sports facilities channel of SportNet and became a individual website in May 2007.
